Teach Spanish online and get paid.

How much do online Spanish teachers make?

It depends. Online tutors can make up to 1,000 dollars per hour. You wouldn't be the first one making it, but it won't be easy.
Inexperienced teachers make 15 to 20 dollars an hour. Experienced teachers make up to 80 dollars an hour. From there, exceptional teachers can earn anywhere up to 1,000 dollars an hour. Maybe even more. Check out this story in Business Insider for more details!

When I started working in education, anything online was cheaper than the in-person version. Now it is not the case anymore. It can be less expensive because there is more competition. But an online Spanish teacher can be more costly too because you can have easier access to the best in the field from your home.

Is online teaching worth it?

Well, it depends. High school teachers who work in competitive schools can make 100k a year. Here you have a list of 11 schools in the U.S. that pay over that salary. That salary alone is around 60 dollars an hour. If you want the best teachers to go into tutoring, you need to spend at least that amount an hour. Add on top of that, when we talk about in-home tutoring, that the teacher needs to commute, which is adding unpaid extra time. If you want to convince one of those teachers working in a competitive school to tutor your kids, you need to pay at least 100 dollars an hour. If not more.
As you can see, the answer is not easy. For an inexperienced teacher, it could be worth it to tutor for just 20 dollars an hour. For an experienced teacher, it could not be worth it to tutor for 100 dollars an hour.

Can I teach Spanish online?

Teaching online is one of the best ways to do it. You don't need to waste time commuting. If the class is canceled at the last minute (something not unusual), you are probably home so that you can use your time in something else. You only need a laptop, wifi, and a Gmail account.

Is there a demand for Spanish teachers?

Yes, there is. Foreign language teachers are in high demand. I have been in the industry for a while, and I can tell you that it is not easy to find Spanish teachers. And it is even harder to find a GOOD Spanish teacher. It is an advantage to have a credential, be a native speaker, and have experience working with students. However, none of these is a requirement.

How do you tutor someone in Spanish?

First of all, get a book or a good website online with excellent resources. Figure out what level you are going to be able to teach. Spanish I is usually taught in Middle School. It is the easiest, but you need to be familiar with grammar and vocabulary. Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Spanish 4, and AP Spanish are increasingly more complicated. Being a native Spanish speaker is not enough. You need to know the rules and how to explain that to a non-native learner. It is essential to create a good relationship teacher-student. Get some books, decide which level you can teach, and prepare for it.

How can I become a Spanish teacher online?

It is very easy; sing up on an online teaching website to become a Spanish tutor and find your student!
